THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Tornado Risk.
Elevated Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 70 MPH.
Elevated Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A strong and slow moving storm system will continue to impact the
region into tonight. As a result, periods of moderate rain to
briefly heavy rainfall will continue at times today into this
evening. There is also a concern for severe thunderstorm
development over portions of the region late this afternoon into
the evening as a cold front approaches from the west. While there
is uncertainty on the extent of thunderstorm development this
afternoon, the atmosphere will be supportive of severe
thunderstorms should they develop. The severe threats would
include the possibility for tornadoes and strong damaging wind
gusts. At this time, it appears the main threat for severe storms
may be along and south of the interstate 80 corridor.

In addition...flooding is expected along portions of area rivers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Monday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.

In addition...flooding is expected along area rivers into early
next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed late this afternoon into this evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving to the northeast at 50 to 55 MPH.
