THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...THE STRONGEST MAY PRODUCE:
EXTREMELY HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH FLOODING.
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL SPREAD EAST ACROSS NORTHERN
ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA LATE IN THE EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT. THE HIGHEST THREAT MAY REMAIN SOUTH OF INTERSTATE
80.

DISCUSSION:

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE MAINLY ACROSS CENTRAL
ILLINOIS THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...ADDITIONAL
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER IOWA AND WESTERN
ILLINOIS THROUGH THE EVENING. THESE STORMS MAY THEN DEVELOP
EASTWARD ACROSS PORTIONS THE REGION LATER THIS EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT. DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS COULD OCCUR WITH ANY
STORMS DEVELOPING INTO BOWING SEGMENTS. HOWEVER...IT APPEARS
THE MAIN SEVERE THREAT MAY REMAIN SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80
TONIGHT. HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING WILL ALSO BE A
CONCERN WITH THESE STORMS TONIGHT DUE TO THE POTENTIAL OF 1
TO 2 INCH PER HOUR RAIN RATES AND TRAINING STORMS.

MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ON PORTIONS OF THE
IROQUOIS...KANKAKEE...AND ILLINOIS RIVERS WITH MAJOR FLOODING
CONTINUING ON PORTIONS OF THE IROQUOIS RIVER IN NORTHWEST
INDIANA.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE INTO THURSDAY
MORNING...ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.

PERIODS OF THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE AGAIN...MAINLY LATE SUNDAY
THROUGH TUESDAY.

PORTIONS OF THE IROQUOIS...KANKAKEE...AND ILLINOIS RIVERS WILL
REMAIN IN FLOOD.
