THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...THE STRONGEST OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:

FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLOODING.
ISOLATED WIND GUSTS OF 60 MPH.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST
ILLINOIS PRIOR TO 8 AM CDT. MORE NUMEROUS SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP BY MID AFTERNOON MAINLY
SOUTHEAST OF AN APPROXIMATELY PONTIAC TO GARY LINE...AND MAY
LINGER INTO EARLY EVENING. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY
DEVELOP ACROSS THE ENTIRE OUTLOOK AREA FROM THE WEST AFTER
MIDNIGHT.

DISCUSSION:

SHOWERS AND A FEW EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIFT NORTHEAST
ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS EARLY THIS MORNING IN ASSOCIATION WITH
A MID LEVEL DISTURBANCE. A LULL IN THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS THEN
EXPECTED UNTIL THIS AFTERNOON...WHEN SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS
WILL LIKELY FORM ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE AREA IN
THE MID AFTERNOON TO EARLY EVENING HOURS OF PEAK HEATING AND
INSTABILITY. NO SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED THIS MORNING...
THOUGH A FEW STORMS WHICH FORM THIS AFTERNOON MAY PRODUCE
ISOLATED STRONG WIND GUSTS OVER 60 MPH...IN ADDITION TO
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WHICH COULD LEAD TO FLOODING.

PORTIONS OF THE IROQUOIS...KANKAKEE...AND ILLINOIS RIVERS WILL
REMAIN IN FLOOD.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY MONDAY AND MONDAY EVENING...AND SOME
STORMS COULD BE SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.
HEAVY RAINFALL THAT MAY LEAD TO FLOODING IS ALSO POSSIBLE WITH
THESE STORMS.

THERE WILL BE PERIODIC CHANCES OF THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH SATURDAY.

PORTIONS OF THE IROQUOIS...KANKAKEE...AND ILLINOIS RIVERS WILL
REMAIN IN FLOOD.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT ANTICIPATED...BUT ANY REPORTS OF
HEAVY RAINFALL...FLOODING OR ISOLATED SEVERE WEATHER IS
