Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater affecting Kane and McHenry
Counties
.Heavy rainfall from Monday and Monday night will continue to
lead to high water on the Fox River. The next chance for rain over
the basin is Wednesday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Safety message...If you encounter a flooded roadway...turn around and
find an alternate route.

The Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater
* until Thursday morning.
* At 230 AM Tuesday the stage was 8.0 feet.
* Action stage is 9.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Recent activity...Flood forecasts for Algonquin were moved to this
location on July 5 2011. Gage zero datum is different from the old
gage location. Flood and action stages have changed.
* Forecast...The river will rise to near 9.1 feet by Wednesday
morning.
