THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.
Significant Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A late season winter storm will bring accumulating heavy, wet
snow, and a bit of mixed snow, sleet and rain or freezing rain, to
portions of the area generally along and south of a line from
Sterling to Kankakee Illinois, and Lafayette Indiana. Significant
snow accumulations, in excess of 6 inches, is likely across the
southwestern parts of the outlook area, where a winter storm
warning is in effect into this evening. Isolated lightning and
thunder will accompany some of the heavy snowfall this morning.
There will be a very sharp cut off in snowfall to the north of the
above line. Many areas of far northern and northeast Illinois and
parts of northwest Indiana north of the Kankakee River, will see
little or no precipitation. East winds, gusting to 30 to 35 mph,
can also be expected across the area today.

Portions of the Kankakee River will remain in flood.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Monday and Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

Portions of the Kankakee River will remain in flood.
