THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Hail Risk...up to half dollar size or slightly higher.
Elevated Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 MPH.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Fog Risk through just after sunrise in outlying areas.
DISCUSSION:
A warm and unstable air mass will be in place today. Isolated storms are
possible this afternoon that pose a hail and heavy rain threat. A cold front
will approach from the northwest tonight. Large hail, damaging winds would be
the main hazards. The higher threat is in Wisconsin, but there is a low risk
of severe storms, with north central and far northeast Illinois (and adjacent
Lake Michigan) the favored locations if storms linger into Illinois late tonight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday through Wednesday...
Occasional low chances for thunderstorms, least likely on Saturday.
