WINNEBAGO...MCHENRY AND BOONE COUNTIES UNTIL 345 PM CDT...
At 316 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Rockton to Lakemoor. Movement was southeast at
30 mph.
Nickel size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Rockford, Buffalo Grove, Northbrook, Mundelein, Algonquin, Highland
Park, McHenry, Belvidere, Vernon Hills, Woodstock, Loves Park,
Machesney Park, Grayslake, Libertyville, Lake Zurich, Lake Forest,
Round Lake, Deerfield, Wauconda and Fox Lake.
The Lake Zurich Lions Park should seek safe shelter!
Including the following interstates...
I-39 between mile markers 119 and 123.
I-90 between mile markers 0 and 2, and between mile markers 42 and
76.
I-94 between mile markers 17 and 25.
I-294 between mile markers 17 and 25.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
