THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
There is a high rip current risk at Lake Michigan beaches through
this evening due to gusty north winds and high waves.
In addition...flooding will continue on many area rivers.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.
Wednesday...
Elevated Flooding Risk.
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Thursday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Warm and humid weather will return Wednesday ahead of a cold front
which will move slowly across the area late Wednesday night and
Thursday. Thunderstorms are expected to spread into the area ahead
of the front Wednesday night, and some storms could be strong to
severe with damaging winds and large hail. Locally heavy rainfall
will also be possible with these storms. Storms may persist across
parts of the area on Thursday...as the front slowly sags to the
southeast. Dry weather will return Thursday night.
In addition...flooding is expected to continue on many area rivers.
