THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A corridor of showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop from
northwest to southeast from far northern Illinois into portions
of northwest Indiana tonight. These storms are likely to produce
heavy downpours, and because of their movement to the southeast,
the storms may move over the same areas. This could result in
locally high amounts of rainfall up to 2 inches and localized
areas of flooding into early Tuesday, especially if these heavy
amounts occur over the more urbanized Chicago area.
In addition...minor flooding will continue along portions of the
Kankakee and Illinois rivers.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.
Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk well south of the Kankakee River.
Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
The heavy rainfall and localized flooding threat will continue
into Tuesday morning before ending by the mid morning. There is a
slight chance for an isolated severe thunderstorm capable of
producing marginally severe hail well south of the Kankakee River
on Tuesday afternoon.
In addition...minor flooding will continue along portions of the Kankakee
and Illinois rivers.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving to the southeast at 45 mph.
