THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Limited Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 MPH.
DISCUSSION:
Scattered showers are forming along the cold front over northwest
Indiana and along a lake breeze over northeast Illinois. While
widespread severe storms are not expected, a few storms may become
strong to severe along and east of a McHenry to Gibson City,
Illinois line. The main risks are hail, gusty winds, and heavy
rain. Storms should be east of the forecast area by this evening.
In addition...flooding is expected along portions of the Kankakee
River.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
Monday and Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Thursday through Saturday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
In addition...flooding is expected along portions of the Kankakee
River.

Spotters may be needed briefly this afternoon along and east of
Interstate 57.
