Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected...
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Limited hail risk...up to quarter size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 65 mph.
Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 90s again
today with peak heat indices of 100 to 105.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front
across eastern Iowa this afternoon and progress eastward into
northern Illinois this evening. Some of these storms could be
severe, especially north and west of the Interstate 55 corridor
through midnight. Thunderstorm coverage will likely decrease
farther east into northwest Indiana and east central Illinois
later tonight, with the threat of severe weather also diminishing
with southeastward extent.
