...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS
EVENING TO 3 PM CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Blowing snow expected with the potential for severely
reduced visibilities in open areas and snow drifting onto
previously cleared roads. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 3 PM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hazardous travel conditions are expected to develop
in open areas, particularly late tonight into Wednesday.
Pockets of near white out conditions could develop along north
south roads where unobstructed western exposure allows snow to
blow across the roadway.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southerly winds could result in
blowing and drifting across east west roadways in open areas
this evening, but then conditions will deteriorate significantly
late tonight with very strong west winds resulting in
significant blowing and drifting snow across north south roads.
Some potential exists for near ground blizzard conditions to
develop in open areas late tonight into Wednesday, consider
postponing unnecessary travel in rural and outlying areas. Snow
showers early Wednesday morning could further exacerbate the
poor visibility issues.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling.
