DISCUSSION...
Northeast winds are expected to gust to 30 mph area-wide.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
Monday...
Elevated Snow Risk, mainly west of Chicago
Elevated Sleet and Ice Accumulation Risk south of Interstate 80.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Lakeshore Flood Risk in northeast Illinois.
Wednesday and Thursday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A broad low pressure system over the central U.S. will spread an
axis of wintry precipitation across the area on Monday. Some wet
snow and sleet accumulation is possible north of I-80 and
especially for areas near and west of I-39. Minor ice and sleet
accumulations up to around one tenth of an inch are possible south
of I-80, mainly on grassy areas and elevated surfaces.
Additionally, easterly winds gusting over 30 mph Monday may
result in minor lakeshore flooding along the Illinois shore,
primarily north of Chicago.
A strong system will impact the area Wednesday night into
Thursday, with gusty winds and another potential for
lakeshore flooding.
