This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Elevated Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Northeast winds will gust to 45 to 50 mph today, with a few
higher gusts possible. These strong winds will produce high
waves on southern Lake Michigan which will present a threat of
lakeshore flooding along the Illinois and Indiana Lake Michigan
shores through early Friday morning.
Locally heavy rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are possible
generally south of U.S. highway 24 by the time rain ends later
today. A few isolated thunderstorms are possible in this area
this morning. There is a chance that rain may mix with wet snow
before it ends later today. There could be some limited wet
accumulation on grassy surfaces, though no significant amounts
are expected.
