THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60| MPH.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A few thunderstorms with heavy rain and gusty winds will linger
early this morning over portions of far northern Illinois.
However, additional thunderstorms are expected to develop across
northern Illinois into northwestern Indiana tonight as a cold
front approaches the area. These storms will be capable of
producing large hail and damaging wind gusts. Very heavy rainfall
will also be likely with these storms, and this may result in
additional flash flooding.
Heat indices up to 105 degrees is expected, especially south of
I-80 and west of I57.
Additionally...Flooding will continue across portions of the Des
Plaines River.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Thursday...
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
Friday through Sunday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Additional strong to severe storms will be possible on Thursday,
mainly south of I-80.
Flooding will continue across portions of the Des Plaines River.
