THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Significant Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 70 MPH.
Elevated Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION:

There will be increasing chances for thunderstorms, with
and overnight. Thunderstorms, likely in the form of a mesoscale
convective system, will move into north central Illinois
shortly after midnight and then spread south and east across the
region through the early morning hours. Some storms may be severe,
producing strong, damaging winds and large hail. The most significant
threat is for winds in excess of 70 MPH across north central
Illinois. Heavy downpours are possible with these storms and may lead to
flooding, but the storms should generally be somewhat quick moving which
should mitigate a widespread flooding threat.

Elevated Flooding Risk.
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms are likely through
the week. There will be a continued threat for locally heavy
rainfall and severe thunderstorms through Tuesday as the area
remains under warm and humid conditions.

Heat index values may reach or slightly exceed 100 degrees on
Wednesday.

Spotters will likely be needed overnight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving southeast at 30 mph, increasing to 35 to 40 mph late.
