.DAY ONE...Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

DISCUSSION:

There is a possibility of a few isolated storms this evening,
with any that develop having a mainly low severe weather threat.
An organized thunderstorm complex is likely overnight, moving
southeast into north central Illinois shortly after midnight and
then spreading south and east through the predawn hours. Some of
this line of storms may be severe, producing strong, damaging winds
and possibly large hail. The most significant threat for winds is
across north central Illinois as well as the northern and western
Chicago metro. Heavy downpours are possible with these storms and
may lead to localized flooding, but the storms should generally
be somewhat quick moving mitigating a widespread flooding threat.

Periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms are likely through
midweek. There will be a continued threat for severe
thunderstorms and heavy rainfall through Wednesday. From Monday
mid-afternoon through Monday evening, this risk area is mainly
south of Interstate 88 where scattered storms are possible. Some
of these storms if they develop could produce large hail, locally
heavy rainfall, and gusty winds.

Heat index values may reach or slightly exceed 100 degrees in
parts of north central Illinois on Monday afternoon, and then
again areawide on Wednesday.

Spotter reports of wind or any wind damage will likely be needed
overnight mainly for areas along and north of Interstate 80.
