THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

HEAT INDICES AROUND 105 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON.

CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS...SOME COULD PRODUCE:
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
HEAVY RAIN.
FREQUENT LIGHTNING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL RISE TO AROUND 105 DEGREES LATE THIS
AFTERNOON FOR MOST OF NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST ILLINOIS...AND
NORTHWEST INDIANA.

THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS TONIGHT. A FEW OF THE STORMS
MAY BECOME SEVERE TONIGHT.

DISCUSSION:

VERY WARM AND HUMID AIR OVER THE AREA WILL RESULT IN HEAT INDEX
VALUES IN THE 100 TO 110 DEGREE RANGE LATE THIS AFTERNOON.

UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES PIVOTING AROUND A MASSIVE DOME OF HEAT
OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS HAS ALLOWED THUNDERSTORMS TO OCCASIONALLY
DEVELOP AND SLIDE SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE WESTERN GREAT LAKES.
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP THIS EVENING AND APPROACH
NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA TONIGHT. A COLD FRONT
WILL DROP SOUTH INTO NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND FAR NORTHWEST INDIANA
BY DAYBREAK TUESDAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

PERIODIC CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR FROM THURSDAY
THROUGH SUNDAY.

HEAT INDICES AROUND 105 ARE POSSIBLE EACH DAY TUESDAY THROUGH
SUNDAY...EXCEPT WINDS OFF OF LAKE MICHIGAN WILL KEEP AREAS NEAR
THE LAKE FROM GETTING QUITE AS HOT TUESDAY AND THURSDAY.
