THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

HEAT INDICES OVER 100 DEGREES.

AND THUNDERSTORMS...SOME MAY PRODUCE:
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
AND VERY HEAVY RAINFALL LEADING TO LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

HEAT INDICES AT OR ABOVE 105 DEGREES ARE LIKELY THIS
AFTERNOON...ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DIMINISH THROUGH MID DAY WITH
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO
TONIGHT.

DISCUSSION:

THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DIMINISH THROUGH MID DAY WITH
PARTIAL CLEARING ALLOWING TEMPERATURES TO RISE INTO THE LOWER
90S. WITH VERY HIGH HUMIDITY IN PLACE...THIS WILL LEAD TO HEAT
INDICES OF AROUND 105 DEGREES FOR AREAS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.

ADDITIONAL STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY TO DEVELOP
LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT ALONG AN ADVANCING COLD FRONT.
WHILE THERE IS A THREAT THAT SOME OF THE STORMS COULD PRODUCE
DAMAGING WINDS...THE PRIMARY THREAT LOOKS TO BE LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL WHICH COULD RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE FRIDAY INTO FRIDAY EVENING...MAINLY
SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE AGAIN TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY OF NEXT
WEEK.
