DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms will persist through the early evening,
particularly near Lake Michigan and near and south of Interstate
80. Isolated to perhaps widely scattered thunderstorms are then
possible in the late evening and overnight across the area. The
strongest thunderstorms through tonight may be capable of producing
localized strong to damaging downburst winds.
Heat indices this afternoon away from the Illinois lakeshore will
top out around 100 degrees.
