DISCUSSION...
Isolated thunderstorms may develop this afternoon and continue
into the early evening, with a possible focus being near the lake
breeze in northeast Illinois. Isolated to perhaps widely scattered
thunderstorms are then possible in the late evening and overnight.
The strongest thunderstorms through tonight may be capable of
producing localized strong to damaging downburst winds.
Heat indices this afternoon away from the Illinois shore will top
out around 100 degrees.
