This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk mainly tonight...with an associated:
Limited hail risk...up to the size of quarters south of I-88
Limited Flooding Risk.
High Swim Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Increasing northeast winds are resulting in building wave action
and dangerous swimming conditions.

A few thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon south of U.S.
Highway 24. Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected
this evening and overnight. A few of these storms could become
marginally severe with a threat for hail, mainly south of I-88.
Locally heavy rainfall may occur with this overnight activity,
resulting in isolated instances of mainly minor flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Thursday...
High Swim Risk.
Friday and Saturday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Dangerous swimming conditions may continue at area beaches through
Thursday. Periodic rain and storm chances will also persist into
the end of the week, but the threat for heavier rainfall may shift
to the north and west of the region.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time due to the
limited nature of the severe threat this evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east northeast at 35 mph.
