This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Limited hail risk...up to golf ball size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
High Swim Risk Lake County Illinois.
DISCUSSION...
Strong southerly winds will gust as high as 40 to locally 45
mph into the evening. These strong southerly winds will continue
dangerous swimming conditions at Lake Michigan beaches in Lake
County Illinois.
Thunderstorms will likely develop this evening near the Illinois
Wisconsin state line and gradually move southeast. Any storms
would pose a risk for damaging winds, large hail, and a few
tornadoes. The main severe threat window is during the 7 PM to
midnight timeframe. While storms are expected to develop, there
remains some uncertainty on the coverage of the severe weather
threat, but at this time the main threat area, including
possibly a few tornadoes, looks along/north of Interstate 88.

Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Northeast winds will increase on Monday resulting in dangerous
swimming conditions developing. These conditions will likely
continue through Thursday.
Periods of rain are expected Monday night through Thursday,
along with chances for thunderstorms. Current trends suggest the
heaviest rains may fall northwest of Interstate 55 through midweek.
For Monday night, a few storm could be marginally severe, mainly
south of Interstate 88.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed this evening north of Interstate 80.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the southeast at 35 to 40 mph.
