This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Limited hail risk...up to golf ball size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
High Swim Risk Lake County Illinois.

DISCUSSION...

A thunderstorm complex will move across much of area this morning.
Gusty winds and marginally severe hail will be the threats, mainly
south and west of a Rochelle to Rensselaer line. Locally heavy
rain is also expected this morning.

Strong southerly winds are expected this afternoon into early this
evening with wind gusts as high as 40 to locally 45 mph. These
strong southerly winds will create dangerous swimming conditions
at Lake Michigan beaches in Lake County Illinois.

Additional thunderstorms may develop late this afternoon and
evening. Any storms that develop would pose a risk for damaging
winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes. The main severe threat
window is roughly during the 6 PM to Midnight timeframe.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Flooding Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Tuesday...
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Wednesday and Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Periods of rain are expected Monday night through Thursday,
along with chances for thunderstorms. Current trends suggest the
heaviest rains may fall northwest of Interstate 55 through midweek.

Prolonged northeast winds will produce high waves and dangerous
swimming conditions Monday night through Thursday at Lake Michigan
beaches.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed this morning and again this evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the southeast at 30 to 40 mph.
