This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Limited hail risk...up to golf ball size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
High Swim Risk Lake County Illinois.
DISCUSSION...
Strong southerly winds are expected this afternoon into early
this evening with wind gusts as high as 40 to locally 45 mph.
These strong southerly winds will create dangerous swimming
conditions at Lake Michigan beaches in Lake County Illinois.
Additional thunderstorms will likely develop this evening. Any
storms that develop would pose a risk for damaging winds, large
hail, and a few tornadoes. The main severe threat window is
roughly during the 7 PM to midnight timeframe. While storms are
expected to develop, there is a fair amount of uncertainty on
the coverage of the severe weather threat.

Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Periods of rain are expected Monday night through Thursday,
along with chances for thunderstorms. Current trends suggest the
heaviest rains may fall northwest of Interstate 55 through midweek.
Prolonged northeast winds will produce high waves and dangerous
swimming conditions Monday night through Thursday at Lake Michigan
beaches.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed this evening north of I-80.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the southeast at 30 to 40 mph.
