This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Snow Risk late tonight.
DISCUSSION...
Another round of precipitation will move into the region late
tonight. This precipitation is expected to change to snow along
and north of I-80, and west of I-355 after midnight. Some locally
moderate to, at times heavy, snow will be possible, and some slushy
accumulations of 2 to 4 inches appear possible.
Otherwise, flooding will continue on several area rivers this week.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday...
Elevated morning Snow Risk.
Limited Lakeshore Flood Risk Wednesday night.
Thursday...
Elevated Snow Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk
DISCUSSION:
Any lingering snow will change to light rain through Wednesday morning,
with a light rain/snow mix continuing near I-39 with no
accumulations during the afternoon hours.
A strong storm system is expected to impact the region late Wednesday
night and on Thursday with rain likely to change to snow. Some snow
accumulations will be possible across parts of northern Illinois,
with a potential for some travel impacts mainly over north central
Illinois.
