This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Snow Risk late tonight.
DISCUSSION...
Another round of precipitation will move into the region late
tonight. This precipitation is expected to mix with snow near and
north of I-80 and change to snow in the vicinity of the I-88
corridor west of I-355 after midnight. Some locally moderate to,
at times heavy, snow will be possible, and some slushy
accumulations of two to four inches appear possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday...
Elevated Snow Risk mainly in the morning.
Limited Lakeshore Flood Risk Wednesday night.
Thursday...
Elevated Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Any lingering snow will change to rain through Wednesday morning,
with a light rain/snow mix continuing near I-39 with no
accumulations during the afternoon hours.
A strong storm system is expected to impact the region on Thursday
and Thursday night with a mix of rain and snow. Some snow
accumulations will be possible across parts of northern Illinois,
with a potential for some travel impacts mainly in the vicinity of
the I-39 corridor.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
