…WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO MIDNIGHT CST SUNDAY NIGHT…
WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Blowing snow possible, especially Sunday night. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 10 inches, with localized amounts up to 12 inches, are expected.
WHERE…Portions of north central and northeast Illinois.
WHEN…From 6 AM Sunday to midnight CST Sunday night.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Travel could be very difficult. Snow covered roads and significantly reduced visibility are expected. Snowfall rates in excess of 2 inches per hour are possible. Holiday travelers may encounter a quick transition from rain to very heavy wet slushy snow, especially during the late morning to early afternoon Sunday.
