DISCUSSION:
Patchy light freezing rain or freezing drizzle may develop Thursday night across much of the outlook area. A more potent storm system will bring warmer air and rain to the region this weekend. Precipitation may begin as a mix of rain and freezing rain Friday night, and may persist as freezing rain Saturday morning especially across far northern Illinois before changing to all rain during the day. Rainfall amounts may approach an inch in some areas Saturday, with the combination of rain and snow melt potentially resulting in minor flooding. There is a chance of a few thunderstorms Friday night and Saturday as well, especially south of I-88.
