DISCUSSION…
A weak weather disturbance will bring the potential for patchy light freezing rain to the area tonight. This may cause a few slick spots on untreated roadways…sidewalks and parking lots overnight.

DISCUSSION:
A stronger storm system will move into the region Friday night. Rain and freezing rain is expected to develop after midnight, with slowly rising surface temperatures eventually changing precipitation to all rain from south to north through Saturday morning. Minor ice accumulation is possible, and some roads and elevated surfaces may become slick. Rainfall amounts of between a quarter and a half of an inch through midday Saturday, combined with some snow melt where snow pack exists, may lead to rises in rivers and creeks and potentially some flooding of low spots this weekend. Also, a few thunderstorms are possible Saturday. A few storms could be strong to severe mainly south of the Interstate 80 corridor Saturday afternoon. Farther north, east winds gusting to 35 mph at times Saturday morning and early afternoon may produce minor lakeshore flooding along the Illinois shore of Lake Michigan.
