Des Plaines River at River Forest affecting Cook County
Des Plaines River at Riverside affecting Cook County
Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater affecting Kane and McHenry
Counties
...Forecast flooding Changed from Moderate to Record severity for the
following rivers in Illinois...
Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake County
Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake County
Des Plaines River at Lincolnshire affecting Lake County
Des Plaines River near Des Plaines affecting Cook County
.Heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours of 5 to 9 inches across extreme
northern Illinois have caused significant rises along the Des Plaines
and Fox Rivers.
There is a range on the river forecasts due to the localized nature of
the rainfall. Keep updated on the forecasts if you are along these
rivers.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Safety message...If you encounter a flooded roadway...turn around and
find an alternate route.

* Flood Warning for
The Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater.
* until further notice.
* At 1030 AM Wednesday the stage was 9.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Recent activity...Flood forecasts for Algonquin were moved to this
location on July 5 2011. Gage zero datum is different from the old
gage location. Flood and action stages have changed.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 13.3 feet by
Saturday afternoon then begin falling.
