...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 AM CDT FOR
SOUTHERN LAKE...NORTHERN KANE...SOUTHERN MCHENRY...NORTHERN DUPAGE
AND NORTHWESTERN COOK COUNTIES...
At 904 AM CDT, additional thunderstorms producing heavy rain are
expected to move across the warned area through 10 AM CDT and will
likely cause additional flash flooding and dangerous travel. Four to
six inches of rain has fallen and additional rainfall amounts of
around one inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding will
continue this morning.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Elgin, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Palatine, Skokie, Des
Plaines, Mount Prospect, Hoffman Estates, Glenview, Elmhurst,
Lombard, Buffalo Grove, Carol Stream, Carpentersville, Wheeling, Park
Ridge, Addison, Northbrook and St. Charles.
Including the following interstates...
I-88 between mile markers 139 and 140.
I-90 between mile markers 22 and 41.
I-94 between mile markers 17 and 39.
I-290 between mile markers 1 and 15.
I-294 between mile markers 17 and 39.
I-355 between mile markers 26 and 30.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
