NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:
CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL.
WIND GUSTS TO 45 MPH.
AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:
ACROSS ALL OF THE OUTLOOK AREA THROUGH MIDDAY...SHIFTING
EAST ALONG AND EAST OF A GARY TO WATSEKA LINE BY EARLY
AFTERNOON. ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP WILL BE MOVING
EAST TO NORTHEAST AROUND 30 MPH. THUNDERSTORM CHANCES
DIMINISH BY THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE EASTERN PORTIONS OF
THE OUTLOOK AREA.
DISCUSSION:
SOME INSTABILITY HAS DEVELOPED THIS MORNING...HOWEVER
EXPECT ONLY ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP LATER THIS
MORNING THROUGH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON ALONG AND AHEAD OF AN
APPROACHING COLD FRONT...WHICH WILL MOVE FROM WEST TO EAST.
IF ANY THUNDERSTORMS CAN DEVELOP THE STRONGEST MAY PRODUCE
CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING...BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS...AND
WIND GUSTS TO 45 MPH.
WATER LEVELS ON SOME AREA RIVERS AND CREEKS WILL REMAIN HIGH...
PARTICULARLY PORTIONS OF THE ILLINOIS RIVER AND IROQUOIS RIVER.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
THERE IS A PERIODIC CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS FROM THURSDAY NIGHT
THROUGH SUNDAY.
