This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Snow will continue through this afternoon and into this evening.
Slushy accumulations on roadways including bridges and overpasses
are expected where snowfall rates are heavier, and where
temperatures cool below freezing this evening.

Additional lake effect snow showers are expected through the
afternoon and evening across parts of northeast Illinois. Some of
these may produce bursts of heavy snow with rates of one half to one
inch per hour on a localized basis. This may result in continued
impacts to the afternoon and evening commute.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday and Thursday...
Limited Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Another period of accumulating lake effect snow is expected
Wednesday into Wednesday evening, primarily across northwest
Indiana and particularly across northeastern Lake and Porter
counties.

Gusty snow showers are expected to develop across the rest of the
region Wednesday and again Thursday afternoon and evening with
additional spotty accumulations.
