THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...THE STRONGEST MAY PRODUCE:
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH.
HAIL TO THE SIZE OF NICKELS.
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING.
FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

SHOWERS AND STORMS SPREADING ACROSS NORTHWEST ILLINOIS SHOULD
BE NEAR AND NORTH OF A PERU TO WOODSTOCK ILLINOIS LINE THROUGH
THE EARLY AFTERNOON. STORMS THEN SHOULD INCREASE IN COVERAGE
ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS INTO THE EARLY EVENING WITH STORMS
COVERING MUCH OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA THIS
EVENING AND OVERNIGHT.

DISCUSSION:

A CONVECTIVE COMPLEX IS CENTERED OVER SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN WITH
NEW STORMS FIRING AHEAD OF THE COMPLEX CIRCULATION AND OUTFLOW
BOUNDARY. EXPECTING STORMS TO FESTER ACROSS PARTS OF NORTHERN
ILLINOIS. WITH AMPLE HEATING THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS CENTRAL
ILLINOIS...THINKING ADDITIONAL STORMS WILL FORM ACROSS NORTHERN
ILLINOIS FROM MID AFTERNOON ON. A COLD FRONT WILL THEN APPROACH
THE REGION THIS EVENING WITH STORMS EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION
AS THE COLD FRONT SWINGS THROUGH. THE BEST CHANCE OF STRONG
STORMS WILL BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE STORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING. WHILE WIDE SPREAD SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT
EXPECTED...SCATTERED GUSTY WINDS... HEAVY RAIN...AND FREQUENT
LIGHTNING WILL BE THE MAIN THREATS.

FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ON PORTIONS OF THE KANKAKEE AND
ILLINOIS RIVERS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

THERE IS A CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS TUESDAY...MAINLY SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80. PERIODIC CHANCES FOR STORMS WILL EXIST WEDNESDAY
NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY.

PORTIONS OF THE KANKAKEE AND ILLINOIS RIVERS WILL REMAIN IN
FLOOD.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTERS MAY BE NEEDED THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING.
