...THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
330 AM CDT FRIDAY FOR NORTHERN DE KALB...BOONE...MCHENRY...
NORTHEASTERN OGLE...NORTHERN KANE AND SOUTHEASTERN WINNEBAGO
COUNTIES...

AT 1139 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THE THUNDERSTORMS THAT
PRODUCED HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED. HOWEVER...LAW ENFORCEMENT RELAYED
THAT A FEW AREAS IN AND AROUND MARENGO CONTINUE TO SEE SOME MINOR
FLOODING. RADAR ESTIMATES BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN
ACROSS THE ADVISED AREAS...AND LOCALLY HIGHER TOTALS NEAR MARENGO.
THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
ROCKFORD...ELGIN...CARPENTERSVILLE...ALGONQUIN...MCHENRY...
BELVIDERE...WOODSTOCK...LOVES PARK...MACHESNEY PARK...HARVARD...
ISLAND LAKE...MARENGO...GENOA...WONDER LAKE...SLEEPY HOLLOW...EAST
DUNDEE...PISTAKEE HIGHLANDS...LAKE IN THE HILLS...HUNTLEY AND ROSCOE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
