THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:

WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND LOCALIZED FLOODING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE EARLY THIS MORNING
MAIN SOUTH OF APPROXIMATELY PONTIAC TO RENSSELAER LINE.
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE ENTIRE
OUTLOOK AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING...BUT THE
GREATEST CHANCE WILL AGAIN BE MAINLY SOUTH OF A PERU TO
VALPARAISO LINE.

DISCUSSION:

A WARM...HUMID AIR MASS HAS OVERSPREAD THE OUTLOOK AREA EARLY
THIS MORNING. ISOLATED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
POSSIBLE EARLY THIS MORNING AS A WEAK MID LEVEL DISTURBANCE
MOVES ACROSS THE AREA...AND AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY
THIS EVENING AS THE ATMOSPHERE DESTABILIZES WITH PEAK HEATING.
ANY STRONG ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON
WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS...WITH THE
GREATEST POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED STORMS EXPECTED TO BE ACROSS
THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE OUTLOOK AREA. ANY STORM WILL ALSO
HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE HEAVY DOWNPOURS...WHICH COULD
PRODUCE LOCALIZED FLOODING ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF I-80.

VERY WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TODAY. AFTERNOON
HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 90 DEGREES...COMBINED WITH HIGH HUMIDITY
WILL LIKELY RESULT IN PEAK AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES OF 100 TO
105 DEGREES.

PORTIONS OF THE ILLINOIS...IROQUOIS...AND KANKAKEE RIVERS REMAIN
IN FLOOD.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH
SATURDAY. AFTERNOON HIGHS IN THE LOW TO MID 90S...COMBINED WITH
HIGH HUMIDITY WILL LIKELY RESULT IN PEAK HEAT INDEX VALUES OF
105 TO 110 DEGREES SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY SATURDAY NIGHT AND
SUNDAY. SOME OF THESE STORMS COULD BE SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WINDS
AND LARGE HAIL...AS WELL AS TORRENTIAL RAINFALL THAT COULD LEAD TO
FLOODING. THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS AGAIN TUESDAY
AND A GREATER CHANCE ON THURSDAY.

ILLINOIS...IROQUOIS...AND KANKAKEE RIVERS WILL REMAIN
IN FLOOD.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
