This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

DISCUSSION...

A burst of accumulating snow is expected this evening, especially
for areas near and north of I-80 where up to 1 to 3 inches of
snow may fall within a short period. This combined with gusty winds
could result in sharply reduced visibility and hazardous travel.

Patchy freezing drizzle may develop across parts of the area late
tonight, especially south of a Pontiac, IL to Rensselaer, IN line.

Limited Ice Accumulation Risk.

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION...

A wintry mix of precipitation, including rain, freezing rain,
sleet, and snow, is possible on Saturday afternoon and evening,
though confidence in amounts remains low. Snow showers may then
persist into Sunday.

Bitterly cold temperatures are expected much of next week, with
dangerous wind chills of 20 to 30 below zero possible during the
early morning hours of Monday and Tuesday.
