...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS
EVENING...
* WHAT...A band of moderate to heavy snow will shift eastward
across far northern IL between 3 and 5 PM this afternoon. While
it will not snow much more than 40 minutes at any given
location, the quick onset of the snow will result in quick
reductions in the visibility. Additionally, gusty westerly winds
and rapidly falling temperatures into the upper 20s and low 30s
with this band of snow will likely result in area roads
becoming very slick in a short amount of time. Total snow
accumulations of up to one inch is possible with this quick
hitting band of snow, and winds will gust as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions will impact the evening commute.
