This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Fog Risk.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
Monday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A powerful storm system will impact the region Monday through
early Tuesday. During the daytime hours on Monday, the main
hazards will be scattered snow showers or snow squalls along with
strong westerly winds gusting up to 40 mph. The snow showers are
unlikely to produce much in the way of accumulations. However,
any heavier squalls will likely result in poor visibility and
could cause isolated sporadic wind gusts up to around 45 mph.
On Monday night into early Tuesday, there will be a period of
light to moderate snow for most areas along and north of the
Illinois and Kankakee Rivers. Accumulations of an inch or two are
possible along and north of I-80, which could cause slick travel,
including for the Tuesday morning commute. Strong west winds may
cause patchy blowing snow in open areas north of I-80.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
