(September, October, November) 2019 for Chicago and Rockford...
At Chicago, the average high temperature for the autumn season
was 83.5 degrees, which is 1.6 degrees above the 1981 to 2010
average. The average low temperature was 65.0 degrees, which is
3.3 degrees above normal. The mean temperature for the season was
74.3 degrees, which is 2.5 degrees above normal.
A total of 13.34 inches of precipitation was recorded during this
past autumn, which is 1.29 inches above normal. There was a total
of 7.1 inches of snow recorded at Chicago, which is 0.30 inches
above normal.
Records established or tied during the autumn months:
September: Record daily rainfall of 2.28 inches on the 27th.
October: Record daily rainfall of 1.76 inches on the 2nd.
Record daily rainfall of 2.18 inches on the 26th.
Record daily snowfall of 1.2 inches on the 30th.
Record daily snowfall of 3.4 inches on the 31st.
November: Record daily lowest maximum temperature of 17 degrees on
the 12th.
Record daily minimum temperature of 7 degrees on
the 12th.
At Rockford, the average high temperature was 83.8 degrees, which
is 1.1 degree above normal. The average low temperature was 63.6
degrees, which is 2.6 degrees above normal. The mean temperature
for the season was 73.7 degrees, which is 1.9 degrees above normal.
A total of 14.36 inches of precipitation was recorded during this
past autumn, which was 1.17 inches above normal. In addition, a
total of 7.6 inches of snow was recorded, which is 1.9 Inches
above normal.
Records established or tied during the autumn months:
September: Record daily rainfall of 2.92 inches on the 12th.
October: Record daily highest minimum temperature of 70 degrees
on the 1st. This was also the record daily highest minimum
for the month of October.
Record daily snowfall of 3.1 inches on the 31st.
November: Record daily minimum temperature of 19 degrees on the
1st.
Record daily snowfall of 3.2 inches on the 11th.
Record daily lowest maximum temperature of 16 degrees
on the 12th.
Record daily minimum temperature of 3 degrees on the
12th.
