THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY BE SEVERE WITH:
HAIL TO THE SIZE OF GOLF BALLS.
WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH.
DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH EARLY EVENING SOUTH OF A
LINE FROM FAIRBURY TO RENSSELAER...PRIMARILY UNTIL 7 PM CDT.

DISCUSSION:

A FRONTAL BOUNDARY CONTINUES TO SAG SOUTH THIS AFTERNOON...
GENERALLY LOCATED ALONG A PONTIAC TO VALPARAISO LINE. SOUTH
OF THIS BOUNDARY THE ATMOSPHERE HAS BEEN ABLE TO BECOME
UNSTABLE. CONSIDERABLE SHEAR EXISTS WELL ABOVE THE SURFACE
WHICH WILL SUPPORT THE POTENTIAL FOR A FEW STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
OR POSSIBLY AN ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH LARGE HAIL
BEING THE MAIN HAZARD. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT ANY STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS COULD PRODUCE A GUSTY WIND TO 60 MPH.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

THERE WILL BE PERIODIC CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY
THROUGH TUESDAY...MAINLY ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED THROUGH 7 PM CDT FOR AREAS SOUTH OF A
FAIRBURY TO RENSSELAER LINE. ELSEWHERE SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE
NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
