Special Weather Statement 19:40:52.7014347

...STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS EXPECTED ON SATURDAY...

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO SHIFT EASTWARD FROM THE PLAINS
ACROSS THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ON SATURDAY. THIS SYSTEM WILL
LIFT A WARM FRONT ACROSS THE AREA ON SATURDAY MORNING. ONCE THIS
FRONT PASSES...SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE RAPIDLY TO 20 TO 30
MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH. THERE IS ALSO SOME POTENTIAL THAT THE
WINDS COULD BECOME A BIT STRONGER FOR A PERIOD SATURDAY
AFTERNOON...WITH GUSTS POSSIBLY IN EXCESS OF 45 MPH AT TIMES ACROSS
PORTIONS OF THE AREA. THE WINDS SHOULD ABATE SATURDAY EVENING AS A
COLD FRONT MOVES ACROSS THE AREA.

WINDS THIS STRONG COULD CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE AND MAKE
TRAVEL HAZARDOUS...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. IN
ADDITION...THESE WINDS COULD MAKE BRUSH FIRES DIFFICULT TO
CONTROL...THEREFORE OPEN BURNING IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
