WILL...OGLE...MCHENRY...LA SALLE...KENDALL AND KANE COUNTIES UNTIL
NOON CDT...

AT 130 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THUNDERSTORMS WITH PERSISTENT RAINFALL...HEAVY AT TIMES...CONTINUING
ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND FAR NORTHWEST INDIANA. RAINFALL WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH MID TO LATE MORNING...WITH ADDITIONAL TOTALS BY 10
AM OF ONE AND A QUARTER TO TWO INCHES ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE AND A HALF TO THREE AND A HALF INCHES WERE
ALREADY OBSERVED OR ESTIMATED ON WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY EVENING.

RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING TO
OCCUR...SOME OF THIS MAY BE QUICK...ESPECIALLY IN URBAN AREAS UNDER
LOCALLY HEAVIER RAINFALL. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE
FLOODING INCLUDE...MUCH OF THE CHICAGO METRO AREA AND ITS
SUBURBS...BELVIDERE...DEKALB...DIXON...GARY...MORRIS...
ROCKFORD...OREGON...OTTAWA...AND NEARBY AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS...URBAN AREAS...
HIGHWAYS... UNDERPASSES AND LOW LYING AREAS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. DO NOT
ENTER THE WATER. TURN AROUND AND MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND. DO NOT
STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.
