Level 1 of 5 Large Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
DISCUSSION...
A band of showers and some thunderstorms is expected to lift
northeastward across the area this afternoon and evening, with
additional thunderstorms possible overnight across far northern
Illinois. Any thunderstorms this evening and overnight could
produce isolated instances of large hail.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Level 2 of 5 Severe Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION...
Severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging wind are
possible along a cold front late Friday afternoon and evening,
especially for areas southeast of I-55.
