This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Level 1 of 5 Damaging Wind Risk...up to 60 mph.
Significant Excessive Heat Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Hot and humid with will continue to build across the area today.
Areas from Chicago west and southwest will see peak afternoon heat
indices around 105 degrees.

Thunderstorms are expected to move east across Wisconsin late
tonight. There is a slight (less than 20 percent) chance that some
of these storms could clip far northern or northeast Illinois,
mainly north of Interstate 90. If storms do affect the area late
tonight, they may be capable of producing localized damaging wind
gusts to 60 mph.

DISCUSSION...
Dangerously hot and humid weather conditions will persist
Tuesday, likely with the hottest temperatures of the year in many
locations. Peak afternoon heat indices of 105 to 115 degrees are
forecast.

There is a slight chance of isolated to scattered thunderstorms
early Tuesday morning, mainly north of I-90. There is a greater
chance (around 40 percent) of scattered thunderstorms late Tuesday
afternoon and Tuesday night. Some of these storms could be
severe, with damaging winds the primary threat, and isolated large
hail also possible.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
