This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Fire Weather Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Very dry and unseasonably warm conditions will increase the risk of
brush and grass fires igniting. Winds will increase a bit later this
morning into this afternoon, accelerating the spread of any fires
that do occur.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Significant Fire Weather Risk.
Thursday...
Elevated Fire Weather Risk.
Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Continued dry and unseasonably warm conditions will continue to
allow for an increased risk of brush and grass fires. Strong and
gusty winds on Wednesday will cause any fires that do occur to
spread rapidly and become difficult to control.
While not as windy as Wednesday, breezy and dry conditions Thursday
will continue to present an elevated risk for quickly spreading
brush fires.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
