This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Snow Risk in Northeast Illinois this evening.
DISCUSSION...
Scattered snow showers this evening may result in minor
accumulation and spotty slippery travel in northeast Illinois.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday...
Limited Non-Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
Saturday...
Limited Ice Accumulation Risk south of I-80.
Elevated Snow Risk mainly north of I-80.
Sunday through Wednesday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A burst of snow is expected Friday morning into the early
afternoon, which, combined with winds gusting over 30 mph,
could result in reduced visibility and slippery travel.
Accumulating snow is likely Saturday into Saturday night,
primarily near and north of I-80. Travel impacts are likely
here with several inches of snow accumulation possible. There
is also a low potential for a brief period of freezing rain
to occur somewhere south of I-80 Saturday night.
Temperatures in the single digits with sub-zero wind chills
appear probable next week.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
