Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Snow will fall throughout the day today, with the peak snowfall
accumulations occurring through mid-morning. While snow will
continue during the afternoon, warming temperatures will cause
snow accumulation rates and travel impacts to ease.

Lake effect snow showers will impact northwestern Indiana
this evening with continued slick travel through early Thursday.

DISCUSSION:

Snow showers will develop overnight tonight and into Thursday.
Snowfall accumulations of a coating up to an inch are possible
which will result in a threat for slippery travel conditions.

Another period of accumulating snow is possible later Saturday and
Saturday night, mainly north of I-80.

Temperatures in the single digits with sub-zero wind chills appear
possible early next week.
