WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:

Flooding continues along many area rivers.
DISCUSSION:
Scattered thunderstorms will develop from west to east across the
outlook area from late this afternoon into this evening, and continue
tonight. A very moist air mass will support the potential for
locally heavy rainfall with these storms, especially if multiple
storms train over the same location. It appears that the greatest
threat of heavy rainfall and localized flooding will be generally south
of a line from Dixon to Joliet to Rensselaer Indiana. In addition,
there is a low risk for isolated strong to severe thunderstorms,
especially this evening in portions of northwest and north central
Illinois, with gusty winds the primary threat. The risk for strong to
severe thunderstorms should diminish later in the night.

Limited Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 50 to 60 MPH.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
The risk for strong to
severe thunderstorms should diminish later in the night.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Thursday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Flooding Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Friday...
High Swim Risk.
Monday and Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Flooding will continue on many area rivers and new rises are
possible if heavy rain occurs tonight.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed early this evening in portions of northwest
and north central Illinois.
